Sugar Beet Pulp Pellets

PrevNext

Sugar beet pulp is a valuable and highly marketable animal feed product that is a byproduct of the sugar extraction process.

The extracted pulp is gently dried and then pressed into pellets. This not only makes this valuable feedstuff storable and flowable, it also makes it easier to grind and mix together with other animal feed components.

Two options:

  1. Steam dried SBPP (6mm Molassed)
  2. Drum dried SBPP (8mm Unmolassed)

1. Steam dried SBPP (6mm Molassed)

Composition: 85% Beet Pulp & about 15% Beet Molasses added prior to drying process

Typical Analysis (on a dry matter basis)

Dry Matter (%)
88.5 – 91.0
Energy (MJ ME / KG DM)
12.2
Crude Fibre (%)
14.0 – 15.0
NFE (%)
65.0
Crude Ash (%)
5.0 – 7.0
Insoluble ash: 1.6 – 1.9
Crude Fat (%)
1.2 – 1.6
Crude Protein (%)
8.5 – 10.0

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Diameter: 6mm
Length: up to 35mm
Colour: chocolate brown

METHOD OF PRODUCTION

Molassed Sugar Beet Pulp Pellets are a co-product from beet sugar production. Once the sugar has been diffused out of the beet, the fibrous residues are being added with beet molasses before drying and then pelletized to obtain the final product.

METHOD OF PRODUCTION

Unmolassed Sugar Beet Pulp Pellets are a co-product from sugar production. Once the sugar has been diffused out of the beet, the fibrous residues are dried and then palletized to obtain the final product.
